So, what’s next?
FINDING THE WAY will be released in 2025. The main character, Merritt, is already chatting in my head but she’s going to have to wait. I will be walking the Camino de Santiago for a third time, just to make sure I have Merritt’s story straight and the scenery defined.
Here’s a rough idea on what FINDING THE WAY is all about:
Merritt Clarke has been wearing a mask for most of her life. She never thought that agreeing to walk 800km across Spain would have her ripping that mask off.
Reluctant to take on the challenge, Merritt feels unprepared—overweight, overstressed, and reeling from the chaos her ex-husband left behind. She should never have married him in the first place.
For Merritt, wearing a mask and glamorous clothes gives her the confidence she needs to get through life. But as she walks the ancient Camino de Santiago, the journey forces her to confront the truths she’s kept buried for years. She just wants to be free of the past, to live the life she’s always dreamed of—but she has no clue what that looks like.
She was told this walk would be life-changing, but she can’t even imagine what that means.
